With the Copa Trail, Bürstner presents an additional version of the Copa. The Trail's key differentiator is the off-road-like design with a distinctive front grille as the core element.
Kehl. Bürstner only presented its compact van Copa in December 2020; however, in the spring of 2022, it will already be joined by a "wilder" brother, the Copa Trail. Also based on a Ford Transit Custom with a 128bhp engine (optionally also available with an 182bhp version), it impresses above all with its dynamic off-road looks: a distinctive front grille, full-width step, Trail decals, 16" alloy wheels, a bumper painted in the grey accent colour and much more.
The Copa Trail has an overall length of 4.97 metres, a width of 1.99 metres and a height of around 2.09 metres. With the roof elevated, the interior headroom in the kitchen area is an impressive 2.47 metres. The vehicle is also available in two other versions with optional, chargeable extras: such as the "Bus" version with two single seats, and as the "Holiday" version with a bench seat for two. Optionally, it is also possible to order one or two additional single seats. Depending on the version, the Copa Trail can therefore be equipped with up to six seats with seat belts. The single seats, just like the bench seat, can easily be taken out of the vehicle in next to no time when they are not needed, which offers maximum flexibility for a wide range of different uses. The Copa Trail can therefore be used as a family car with camping option, as a compact camper or as a van for transporting awkwardly proportioned items, for example when moving house. It is also the perfect companion for sports activities, family excursions to the countryside or city trips.
All versions of the new compact van come with a pop-top roof bed with room for two. The "Holiday" version offers two additional berths, as the bench seat converts into a completely flat bed area that can even be extended by adding a special side cushion.
The Copa Trail is equipped with a 50-litre water tank and, on request, with a compressor cool box with a volume of 40 litres. If required, customers can also order an optional, chargeable Electrics Pack with an additional USB port, a 230V socket and Bürstner's Home Light. Also, optionally available are two "Comfort" packs.
"We are offering the Copa Trail specifically for a target group that prefers an off-road look but does not want to buy a 4x4 drive vehicle," says Bürstner's head of product management Markus Pangerl.
The Copa Trail will be presented to the public for the first time at the CMT 2022.
